Michelle Paquette is looking lovely and glamorous in her first boudoir session. In this shot we used a subdued lighting scheme to create the feeling of mystery and romance. We met at Turtle Creek Casino and Resort in Traverse City Michigan. I am not sure if this is classic boudoir but we had fun shooting.

This is a composite high dynamic range (HDR) image created in Photoshop. The background is a separate image taken at the Jim Bean factory in Lansing. Mohammad is superimposed over the background.

Here Comes the Bride

“Until the 12th of Never”

Claudia and I teamed up a couple days ago and so far we have one photo that is going to end up on a book cover and another that is still being offered.

“I’ll wait for you.”

Meg Howard and I have worked together several times. She is one of my favorite models, This photo was taken on the State Hospital grounds in Traverse City. This was a fun shoot. We had no idea that it would end up as a book cover.

I will post more information about the book and author as soon as it becomes available.

“Sun kissed”

This photo was taken on a windy day at the Old Mission Peninsula. The wind was so strong that I had a difficult time keeping the softbox from blowing over. Amy Sevenski is a beautiful model and her hair and eyes lend themselves to the soft glowing effect of this photograph.

Kyle and Samantha have a couple bulldogs named Jack and Annie. We recently pulled everyone into the studio for a fun session. The dogs were excited and nervous  but eventually settled down and let me take some photos.

The dogs loved this chair. They look like royalty sitting on a throne.

Here Annie was stealing a kiss from Jack.

Jack was the most playful of the two dogs. Here he is showing off his trick of giving Samantha a “high five.”

Later we dressed Annie up in a pirate costume. She seemed to wear it well.

I love shooting in this little courtyard. The water flowing over the dam makes a beautiful backdrop.

Karmen decided to change outfits towards the end of the shoot. The colors worked out perfectly.

I also had a surprise when met the mother of the groom. She and I once worked together for about 3 or 4 years back in the 80’s. We worked at a mailing presort company called Technisort. It has since been taken over and renamed Presort Services. The mother’s name is Jenny Hackett. I have only seen her a couple times since and I didn’t even recognize her at first. Those were good times. I have fond memories of the people who worked there. We were almost like family. Back then the company was a small start-up. Jenny tells me it has grown and is now a nationally known company. She should know. She’s  the Vice President of finance. During the time I worked there I was their sole driver. Today they have a fleet of vehicles and several drivers.

The Garland Resort was a beautiful location that seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere. I have never heard of it and Dana found it only by searching for log cabin resorts in Northern Michigan. The wedding party was dropped off on this path by the golf cart. My father strolled down the path to walk Dana down the isle.

Dana’s wedding was very small. Only close friends and family attended.

Dana seemed to radiate as she walked down the isle.

The service itself only lasted a few moments.

Happiness only takes a moment but the memories can last a lifetime.

I love fall weddings.
